The history of La Casella

In the rolling French countryside set in the hills around Grasse and St Paul de Vence and a stone’s throw from the bustling Riviera, La Casella, a remarkable and unique estate rich in history, opened its doors in 2016.

La Casella was bought by Tom Parr in 1984. Tom was then Chairman of the celebrated English interior decoration and fabric company Colefax and Fowler.

Tom revitalized La Casella’s interiors with his celebrated and refined style whilst his partner, Claus Scheinert, developed and created the gardens which have now become one of the most renowned gardens in the Cote D’Azur.

After Tom Parr’s death five years ago La Casella was inherited by his niece and her family. Following a year-long program of internal and external refurbishment, much of La Casella’s essential character and decorative features have returned to their original splendour.

As a unique villa to rent on the Cote d’Aur, the property has a distinctly English character with immaculate and stunning private gardens surrounding the villa. The property is now available for exclusive rentals all year round.
